Statement of Commitment to Sustainable Eco-Tourism

We regard Sustainable Eco-Tourism as a guiding concept for the sound management of our business. Sustainable Eco-Tourism helps maintain the natural environment and we hope to create awareness and active involvement among our customers towards the natural, social and cultural environment of the places they visit.

We are committed to developing, operating and marketing tourism in a sustainable manner; that is, all forms of tourism which make a positive contribution to the natural and cultural environment, which generate benefits for the host communities, and which do not put at risk the future livelihood of local people.

We recognize that tourism can contribute to the viability of local economies. We also recognize that tourism can have negative impacts on the economy, environment, nature, social structures and local cultures. In the long-term interest of host communities and of our industry, we will endeavor to prevent or minimize these impacts.

We will strive to pursue the best practices in all our activities - internally and when forming business relationships with partners, suppliers and sub-contractors - especially with regard to:

  • responsible use of natural resources
  • reducing, minimizing and preventing pollution and waste
  • conserving plants, animals, ecosystems and protected areas
  • conserving landscapes, cultural and natural heritage
What is Sustainable Tourism?

  1. Its informative. Travelers not only learn about the destination, they learn how to help sustain its character while deepening their own travel experiences.
  2. It supports integrity of place. Destination-savvy travelers seek out businesses that emphasize the character of the locale in terms of activities, cuisine, heritage, aesthetics, and ecology.
  3. Tourism revenues in turn raise local perceived value of those assets. It benefits residents. Travel businesses do their best to employ and train local people, buy local supplies, and use local services.
  4. It conserves resources. Environmentally aware travelers favor businesses that minimize pollution, waste, energy consumption, water usage, landscaping chemicals, and unnecessary nighttime lighting.
  5. It respects local culture and tradition. Visitors learn about and observe local etiquette and customs.
  6. It does not abuse its product. Stakeholders anticipate development pressures and apply limits and management techniques to prevent the "loved to death" syndrome. Businesses cooperate to sustain natural habitats, heritage sites, scenic appeal, and local culture.
  7. It strives for quality, not quantity. Communities measure tourism success not by sheer numbers of visitors, but by length of stay, money spent, and quality of experience.
  8. It means great trips. Satisfied, excited visitors bring new knowledge home and send friends off to experience the same thing - which provides continuing enthusiasm for the destination.
References: Sustainable eco-tourism in its purest sense, is an industry committed to making a low impact on the natural environment and local culture, while helping to generate income and employment for locals.
