Accommodations
ISLANDER has two private double cabins, a V-berth forward and a spacious two-berth cabin aft. Both cabins have private heads and hanging lockers. The aft cabin has a large dresser, plenty of floor space and a full shower. Islander is most comfortable for two couples or a family. The dining banquette offers a possible fifth bunk.
The inside helm station and the galley are on the starboard side of the main salon, and the dining area is to port. The interior is finished in beautiful teak doors, cabinets, and trim. The overhead is finished with a painted veneer. The parquet floors are teak.
Galley
New in 2009 is a Force 10 propane 3-burner range and oven. The 12 volt Norcold refrigerator has a top freezer compartment and a Microwave in the cabinet above. The double sink is installed in a long counter above lots of storage, including a mirrored cabinet for bar glasses on the settee side of the counter. Islander comes equipped with table service for 8 and all the cooking utensils and pans you might need including a lobster pot!
Electrical
12 volt battery system with 8 Trojan 12 volt batteries provides a huge 1100 amp hour capacity which was designed for offshore cruising. Excessive power consumption is therefore not a worry for the coastal cruiser and it will not be necessary under normal circumstances to run the engine or generator daily to charge the batteries while in port. Islander has 12 volt lighting in cabin and engine room; (3) 12 volt automatic bilge pumps, spreader lights, Heart Interface Link 20. Islander had a professionally installed major electrical refit n 2009 with a new Xantrex 3000 watt inverter/charger, ABYC compliant deck fittings, galvanic isolators, switch boxes and a new AC electrical panel. The new inverter/charger which will supply the onboard ac systems for days. An Onan 15KW diesel generator is also onboard to supplement high AC current demands.
