ZORA is a handsome, classic New England-built center cockpit sloop, well-found and professionally maintained. She received a thorough refit and renovation in 2004, prior to an extended bluewater voyage, with top-quality upgrades enhancing her original high-end construction. She's had every system replaced, re-engineered or refurbished, and is ready to take you cruising in comfort and style.
With her separate aft master cabin and forward stateroom, ZORA is well suited for one or two couples, or a small family. Her traditional, warm teak interior is complemented with UltraSuede upholstery and glowing varnish. She is fully equipped with sheets, lightweight blankets, and towels, dishes, silverware, and cooking gear. ZORA is available for charter from Portland, or Rockland. Welcome aboard!
Accommodations
The forward head has a manual toilet to port with an opening, screened port and hatch, full standing headroom and a hot-and-cold water shower. Opposite is the vanity with plenty of storage. The two doors allow the area to be configured as a toilet stall, full head, or to create a private suite for the forward stateroom, with its double V-berth, dresser and cedar-lined hanging locker. Just aft is the main salon, with UltraSuede cushions (new 2004) and a centerline drop-leaf table. Ample storage behind the seatbacks and outboard for all of your stores. The nav station is to starboard of the main companionway, with a custom electrical panel, 110-volt inverter, (all new 2004) radios, radar and chart storage. ZORA is equipped with paper charts from Cape Elizabeth to Penobscot Bay, as well as Maine and New England cruising guides. 120-volt (inverter) and 12-volt outlets at the nav will power your laptop computer, cell phone chargers, etc. Through the starboard-side passageway, past the engine room, is the large aft master stateroom, also accessible through its own companionway to the cockpit. The queen-size berth has reading lights both fore and aft, allowing you to sleep in the most comfortable position. Built-in teak dressers and cedar lockers, bookshelves and side lockers hold an enormous amount of clothing and gear. There are three opening ports with screens, and an opening Bomar hatch. The large aft head includes a vanity and head with holding tank. As with the rest of the boat, all plumbing is new 2004. The interior is finished with fine varnished teak cabinetry and trim, much of it new 2004. White overhead and white cabin sides brighten the cabins, and medium-green UltraSuede and Sunbrella Furniture Series upholstery adds warmth. The cabin soles are teak and holly. Galley ZORA's compact U-shaped galley is a joy to cook in, with ample work space and and excellent task lighting. There is plenty of storage, including a custom dish and glassware cabinet. The galley is well-stocked with dishes, glasses and mugs, silverware and utensils, pots and pans and linens. An opening hatch and port provide ventilation, while multiple hand holds and guard rails ensure safety while cooking underway. Two large top-load refrigerator/freezer compartments (new 2004) have high-tech vacuum-panel insulation and a 2005 Fridgoboat system. The deep double stainless steel sink offers hot and cold pressure water as well as foot-pump salt water and a dedicated Seagull drinking water faucet. The 2004 Force 10 three burner propane stove w/oven and broiler provides plenty of cooking options, and there's always the propane barbecue on the aft rail for grilling your fresh lobster or mackerel!
